Legislation & NCJW California Policy Advocacy Network

NCJW Greater Long Beach & West Orange County's legislation committee serves as an adjunct to the Advocacy Committee. Its mandate is to research pending legislation to determine possible support.

The NCJW California Policy Advocacy Network focuses on a legislative agenda which will improve the lives of women, families, and children. Each year they collaborate with legislators, anti-poverty organizations, and other women’s groups to identify priority California legislation which addresses NCJW’s mission.

During an annual Lobby Day at the Capitol in Sacramento, members from the six California sections, under the guidance of the State Policy Advocates, meet with their own State Senators and Assemblymembers to champion specific bills and/or budget requests.

In addition, throughout the year the State Policy Advocates will continue to monitor legislative developments in these priority areas. Periodically they will request support from their California Rapid Response Team in contacting legislators and/or the Governor to advocate for issues.

You can sign up to become a part of this team! Serving on the Rapid Response Team is an easy way to contribute to effective advocacy activities without a major commitment of time or effort.
