Who We Are

National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) Greater Long Beach & West Orange County (GLB & WOC) celebrates more than 75 years as a volunteer organization inspired by the Jewish values of tikkun olam − repairing the world. We are one of 50 vibrant NCJW sections and 210,000 members making a difference in the United States and Israel.

NCJW takes progressive and visible stands on issues including immigration, refugees, human trafficking, women's rights, reproductive freedom, and voter engagement and education.  Advocacy at the local, state, and national levels is a particular strength of our Section. We also partner with other community organizations to increase our impact.

NCJW - GLB & WOC doesn’t limit its work to advocacy. We offer many opportunities to participate in community service programs, including providing "hugpacks" to children entering the foster care system, partnering with the Long Beach Unified School District to offer Kindergarten Fests, and working with the Human Trafficking Task Force to assist victims.  We also work with organizations that help abused children, people experiencing homelessness, and immigrants and refugees.

Our members make a difference in varied and important ways to improve the lives of women, children, and families throughout our community. Consider getting involved with us; you too can take action and become a powerful force for change.
