Fourth Thursday Movie Discussion

Time for some IN-PERSON fun!?! We meet at a member's home to watch the movie together, have some snacks, and share our reactions.

This month:  "A Thousand and One"

Unapologetic and free-spirited Inez kidnaps her 6-year-old son, Terry, from the foster care system. They set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity and stability in a rapidly changing New York City.

The film explores a Black mother-and-son relationship rooted in unconditional love while also addressing the impact of systemic racism on urban communities. With this effort, A.V. Rockwell's screenwriting and film direction constructs a heartfelt narrative of a family's unceasing perseverance and willingness to give.
